Follow Up On Assault of Japanese Tourist

Pattaya 22nd April 2010[PDN] Following yesterday’s case of the Japanese tourist Miss Fugiyaka (alias) [20] who was whisked away to Yin Yom Beach, Phratamnuk Road by a motorbike taxi driver in a bid to rape her after she sought directions back to her hotel.

The victim, Miss Fugiyaka fought desperately with the man, screaming for help from nearby residents. Police Colonel Nanthawut Suwanla-orng (Pattaya Police Superintendent) has ordered an urgent search for the offender.

The progress of this case was revealed on today 22nd April 2010 at 2.00 pm. Police Lieutenant Colonel Klitsakorn Thongin (Pattaya Police Deputy Superintendent) stated that the medical examination of the victim, Miss Fugiyaka at the Pattaya Memorial Hospital, found no signs of rape but there was bruising to her body which occurred from the assault.

The victim, Miss Fugiyaka claims she can not remember the offender’s profile, only that he was a motorbike taxi driver working around the Pattaya Beach road nearby the Hard Rock Hotel, Central Pattaya. Accordingly the sketch of the offender can not be made public. However, the team of investigators have been sent to investigate all the motorbike service points on Pattaya Beach, in order to find which driver has disappeared and who has signs of assault on their body due to the victims’ scratches on the offender. The Pattaya Police superintendent has ordered the officers to push the investigation in order to find the culprit as it is creating a bad reputation for Pattaya City.

Writers Note: Due to some misleading facts and an error in our interpretation of Miss Fugiyaka’s case we have amended our news accordingly. PDN’s follow up on this sensitive case has revealed that Miss Fugiyaka had in fact managed to fight and resist her attacker before a rape could occur. We sincerely apologize for any misconception that we have unintentionally created and apologize to the victim and her family for any further grief or angst that this may have caused.
